1918 ~ 2003
Everita Virginia Martin, 84, passed away September 10, 2003, at Timpanogos Hospital in Orem, Utah.
Everita was born on December 17, 1918, in Paris, Texas, the daughter of Everett and Calla Utt Talbert.
Everita was raised in Pratt, Kansas and later moved to Winslow, Arizona, where she graduated from high school. She married Sharman "A" Jensen on July 6, 1937. To this union was born three sons - Dale, Fred and Carl.
In her early years, she enjoyed singing, outdoor activities and sports. After moving back to Pratt, Everita worked at International Harvester Company. Her second marriage was to Merle George Martin of Pratt, on December 4, 1954. They farmed eight miles southeast of Pratt in the Glendale Community.
Everita was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Glendale EHU and the Stitch and Chatter Quilting Club. She was an avid knitter and quilter.
In Everita's early years, she was a member of the Methodist Church and later joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the LDS Church she served as a chorister and Relief Society president. She enjoyed being involved in making kits and stocking caps for the Humanitarian Aid of the LDS Church.
At the time of her death, she resided at Summerfield Manor in Orem, Utah.
She is survived by her sons: Dale (Judy) Jensen, Milford, Utah; Fred (Margie) Jensen, St. Anthony, Idaho; Carl (Sharon) Jensen, Orem, Utah; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; five brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, grand-daughter and great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sharon Park First Ward Chapel. 310 North 100 East, Orem, Utah under the direction of the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home of Orem, Utah. Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in Pratt, Kansas.
