Ellie Citerio Street, age 72, passed quietly from this life on Monday, September 8, 2003. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend had bravely endured a long battle with failing health. She was an inspiration to us all.
Ellie was born May 5, 1931 in Diamondville, Wyoming to Carlo and Ida Brunetti Citerio. She married Garry L. Street in Elko, Nevada on May 5, 1973. Together they raised Ellie's three sons, David, John and Gordon Eckersley. Ellie was at her best when she could fix a big meal for family and friends. There is no one who could set a fancier table and make you feel more at home. Ellie and Garry spent a lot of time with their trailer up to Deer Creek Island Boat Camp where they enjoyed many summers camping and fishing and making great friendships while there.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Garry, her three sons, David (Dru) Eckersley, John (Eva) Eckersley, Gordon (Vivian) Eckersley as well as eight grandchildren whom she loved dearly, her mother, Ida Citerio, a brother, Fred (Donna) Citerio, a sister, Helen McDonald, her mother-in-law, Melba Street, Larry (Linda) Street, Ron (Betty) Street, Kathy Walker as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Carlo, her brother John and father-in-law, Lyle Street.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 12, 2003 at 12 noon in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to service. Burial will be in the American Fork City Cemetery.
Our family, especially Garry, would like to send a very sincere message of thank you to the nurses and staff of the Alpine Valley Care Center in Pleasant Grove for all their wonderful and loving care they showed Ellie at this most difficult time. They treated her with love and respect the whole time she was there. Again, Thank You!
