Obituary: Retta Thompson Boehme

1910 ~ 2003

Dearly loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great- grandmother passed away at her home on September 11, 2003.

Born May 19, 1910, in Bloomington, Bear Lake County, Idaho, to Neils Hyrum Thompson and Cerissa Sessions Thompson, the fourth of 14 children. Married in Salt Lake Temple to Fred O. Boehme on June 12, 1928. They spent 68

wonderful years together prior to his death on January 27, 1997.

Survived by daughters Yvonne (Reid) Hayward and Myrtle (Emmett) Greenwell, nine grandchildren and eight spouses, 35 great-grandchildren and eight spouses, and 14 great-great-grandchildren, four sisters: Melba Larsen (Grand Junction, CO); Edna Smith (Sandy, OR); Dora Imlay (Logan, UT); Gay (John) Flint (on a mission in Florida) and three brothers: Andrew (Debbie) of Taylorsville; Orvis (Maureen) of Kearns; and Dean (Shirley) of Murray, UT.

Preceded in death by husband, Fred, and infant daughter, Letty, and three sisters and three brothers.

Lifetime active member of LDS church having served as counselor in Primary, Sunday School teacher, stake missionary, Relief Society secretary, teacher, and president, and faithful visiting teacher for many years.

Special thanks to dear friend, Ellen Peterson. Thanks to wonderful family and doctors, nurses, and IHC Hospice who have cared for her during her recent illnesses.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2003, at the Murray 21st Ward, 41 West 6280 South, Murray, UT, under the direction of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary. Friends and family may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
