Obituary: Sarah Hardy

1917 ~ 2003

Sarah Alice Bangerter Hardy, age 86, passed away September 14, 2003 in American Falls, Idaho.

Born January 21, 1917 in Granger, Utah, daughter of William H. and Isabelle Bawden Bangerter. Married Prescott W. Hardy, November 4, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple; he preceded her in death March 22, 1988. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary November 4, 1987. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in numerous stake and ward callings throughout her life, including ward and stake Primary president, ward Relief Society president and volunteer worker at the Jordan River Temple. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Sarah spent countless hours keeping in touch with many friends sharing family news. Mom was happiest being with her family. She delighted in playing card games with her numerous grand and great-grandchildren or any other willing contestant.

(Julie) Hardy, Covington, WA; Diana (Brian) Jensen, Centerville; 39 grandchildren; 51 great-grand-children; brothers and sisters, Grant (Geraldine) Bangerter, Alpine; Sam (Gloria) Bangerter, West Valley City; Pauline (William) Jensen, West Valley City; Elsbeth Hansen, Sandy; Marian (Richard) Lindsay, Taylorsville; Naomi Weaver, Sandy; Norman (Colleen) Bangerter, South Jordan; David Bangerter, Sandy; brothers-in-law, Ralph E. "Ted" (Francis) Hardy, South Jordan; Lowell Wilson, Scottsdale, AZ; sisters-in-law, Reba Poland, West Valley City; Bessie Bangerter, Provo. Preceded in death by brother, Blauer Bangerter; sister, Gleneth Wilson; grandson, Steven Taysom.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage Ward, 4586 W. 3960 S. Friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road and Thursday at the church, 10-11:00 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
