Obituary: Alfonso Delgadillo

1989 ~ 2003

Alfonso Delgadillo passed away September 12, 2003 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after a year long battle with a brain tumor; he was 14.

Alfonso was born May 22, 1989 in Provo, UT. He was the youngest of Jorge and Blanca Delgadillos' five children. Alfonso attended Lakeridge Jr. High School, Orem, and completed the 8th grade. He was a good student and excelled in math and computers. He was a friendly person and was always very considerate of others. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was working hard trying to earn his Eagle in the Scouting program.

Alfonso was a loving and humble person. He taught anyone who knew him to never give up, never complain, and live your life to the fullest. He influenced those who knew him directly and those who knew him through other people. He was a gift, and angel sent from heaven to teach us that which we could not learn for ourselves. Alfonso, we will never forget you. You will always be our hero.

He is survived by his father, Jorge Alfonso Delgadillo; mother, Blanca Nidia Delgadillo; brother, Jorge Arturo Delgadillo; sister, Nidia Iliana Delgadillo; brother, Jose Delgadillo; sister, Magaly Delgadillo, all of Orem; grandmother, Aida Graciela Munoz, Mexico; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins here and in Mexico; his beloved dog, Eeyore; and an innumerable extended family who all dearly love him.

We would like to thank Doctor Adams, the nurses, the hospital staff, all the church members and family friends who gave of their time and love to care for Alfonso and our family, especially in his last and hardest days.
