Boyer reneging promises

Your editorial "A good decision on Gateway" (Aug. 29) is the most correct of any editorial the Deseret Morning News has ever published.

You mention that Gateway exists in large measure because of public subsidies from the city. You might also have added that other public and private monies have greatly assisted the Gateway development — specifically the Clark Planetarium and the yet-to-be-built children's museum.

Mr. Boyer is showing us what we have come to expect from politicians running for office; promise anything, say anything, just get your way, get elected. Once you are in office, or, in Mr. Boyer's case, once you have the project up and running, you can change the rules and go back on any promise or understanding you have made.
