Obituary: Raymond Leon Davis

1929 ~ 2003

Raymond Leon Davis, Age 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep September 16, 2003 in his Sandy home.

Raymond was born June 2nd, 1929 in Kanarraville, Utah to Leon and Irene Davis. He married Lois McKean on February 9, 1953 in the Manti Temple.

Raymond served in the Korean War from 1950-1952. Later he attended BYU and graduated with a Masters Degree in Industrial/Vocational Education. He taught school on the High School and College level for 30 years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and served in various church positions including bishopric, regional welfare farm director, and was a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lois; children; Melvin (Shauna), Duane (Cindy), Elaine (Lane) Christensen, Karl (Jana); 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and brother; Kent Davis. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Vergene, sister Donna, and infant son Raymond.

Funeral services will be held Friday September 19, 2003, 12:00 p.m. at the Sandy Central Stake Center, 1050 E. Galena Dr. (9820 S.) Friends and family can pay their respects Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the church or one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
