LAYTON — Nominations are sought for Layton City's Family of the Year program, which honors families in four categories.
This is the eighth year for the program, which is held in conjunction with National Family Week. The Layton City Action Council is seeking nominations of exceptional families in the following categories: families with young children (infants to 12 years), families with older children (ages 12 and up), families whose children are grown, and single-parent families.
Nominee families should exhibit excellence in some or all of the following areas: family life, service (to people, school, church or community), activity in the same areas or other characteristics that distinguish them in the community.
Nominees must be residents of Layton, and nominations are due by Oct. 17. Nomination forms are available on the Layton city Web site, www.laytoncity.org. Look for the link to Family of the Year. Winning families will be honored at a reception in the City Council chambers Nov. 23.
