Fears of choking prompt a recall of pacifiers

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Minnesota company is recalling some 154,000 pacifiers because the product may fall apart and pose a choking hazard to infants and small children.

No incidents have been reported, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday.

Silicone and latex pacifiers from Apothecary Products of Burnsville, Minn., were sold nationwide at Kroger stores from August 2002 to August 2003 for about $3.50 to $5.

They came in powder blue, red, purple and pink. The name "Kroger" appeared on the package, along with the words "pacifiers," "latex," "silicone," "0-6 months," or "6-18 months."

The recalled pacifiers have model Nos. 35826, 35827, 35828 and 35829.
