1939 ~ 2003

A loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on Sept. 19, 2003.

He was born May 13, 1939 on his father's birthday to Wayne E. and Mildred H. Madsen in Provo, Utah.

Ron graduated from South High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge he returned to Salt Lake City and was employed by Grand Central Drug Store. In 1977 he moved to Denver, Colorado where he was a sales representative for small toy, game and pet supply companies. He returned to Salt Lake City in 1993 and until recently worked for Zim's.

He is survived by two sons, Todd (Jeri) and Chris (Angie), a stepson, Rickie and two daughters, Nicole and Denna, numerous grandchildren, his mother, Mildred Madsen, a sister, Marion (Dave) Summerhays and a brother, Dave (Teddy) Madsen, also, Several nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Wayne E. Madsen and a sister, Geri (Tim) Smart.

Ron was an avid Denver Bronco football fan, a Utah Jazz basketball fan, and a New York Yankee baseball fan.

The family would like to express thanks to the Eastridge Care Center staff for their loving care and kindness.

Funeral services will be held Monday September 22, 2003 11:00 a.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 S.) where friends and family may call Sunday from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
