GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala — Church Humanitarian Services teamed with the Wheelchair Foundation this month to deliver more than 450 wheelchairs to disabled people in three Central American nations.
Dozens of disabled folks of all ages received wheelchairs during a ceremony in Leon, Nicaragua. Some 150 people were fitted in new chairs a short time later in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, at a function attended by Honduran First Lady held at Aguas Ocana de Maduro.
The next day, some 250 wheelchairs were delivered in Guatemala City at the country's National Palace. The First Lady of Guatemala, Evelyn de Portillo, participated in the event.
