Salt Lake officials arrested a man in connection with a two-alarm fire that burned five vehicles and part of a building early Thursday.
The unidentified man, about 35, was arrested for investigation of aggravated arson. He is on parole for an arson in Ohio, Salt Lake fire spokesman Scott Freitag said.
The man had been staying at a travel hostel near 800 West and 5000 South. About 2:10 a.m., he apparently became upset about a barking dog. He allegedly lit a can of gasoline and tossed it over a fence. A car ignited, Freitag said.
