Obituary: Gayle R. Bailey

1914 ~ 2003

Our beloved father entered this world on December 24, 1914, to Russel and Ethel Story Bailey and on September 19, 2003, Gayle peacefully passed from this life.

Gayle was born and reared in Moroni, UT. Soon after serving an LDS mission in Texas he married his Petersburg sweetheart, Athalia Johnson, July 14, 1938 in the Manti Temple. Gayle retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after 39 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and all kinds of sports, but most of all he loved his family and friends. Gayle was an avid golfer. At the Forestdale Golf course he was known as the "Ace" Bailey. After turning 80 years old he achieved four holes in one in a space of two years. Gayle will always be known for his generosity and outgoing fun personality.

Preceded in death by his sweetheart, Athalie; parents; brothers, Earl, Glen; sister, Louise; son-in-law, Dan Vance; grandson, Jason; and great-granddaughter, Chyenne.
