WENDOVER — Two Orem residents were killed in a rollover accident on I-80 early Monday.
The names of the victims, 23 and 27, have not been released pending family notification, Utah Highway Patrol spokeswoman Tammy Palmer said.
About 4:15 a.m. Monday, a sports-utility vehicle was travelling east. It drifted off the left side of the road for an unknown reason. The driver overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to roll. The two were dead at the scene, Palmer said. The driver and passenger both wore seat belts. Intoxication does not appear to be a factor, the driver was not speeding, weather was good and the road was clear, Palmer said. The UHP continues to investigate the cause, she said.
