Obituary: Glenn Ray Baker

Beloved Husband

and Father

Glenn Ray Baker passed away September 23, 2003 in St. George at the age of 85.

He was born September 16, 1918 in Murray, Utah to Thomas Kime and Lillie May Berger Baker. Married Afton Wilding on March 11, 1942. She preceded him in death. Married Shirley Edwards on September 28, 1991. He served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp. He worked for Utah Power & Light as a Lineman, and retired after 36 years as a Line Supervisor. He was a member of the IBEW Local 57 Union. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trap shooting, bowling and traveling to Mesquite with his wife. Glenn worked in the Scouting program for many years and also served as Scoutmaster. His greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survived by his wife, Shirley; children, LaRae Heath (Allen), Thomas (Jan); grandchildren, Chris Horne, Brad Horne, Jason Baker, Tina Madsen, Amber Bodily; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Olsen; brother-in-law, Max Matthews and sister-in-law, Elouise Baker, and many extended family members.

Preceded in death by his wife, Afton; brothers, Bud, Jim, Bill, Calvin and sister, Irene Matthews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27th, 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
