Major developments in and about Iraq on Saturday:
Guerrillas fire three rockets or grenades at the al-Rashid Hotel, home to U.S. military officers and civilian occupation officials. No one is injured, but the strike is a bold attempt against the heart of the U.S. occupation.
In the town of Fallujah, U.S. troops killed at least two Iraqi civilians. The military said the victims had fired on American soldiers. Wounded survivors said the American fire was unprovoked and came from troops lying in ambush. They said four Iraqis were killed.
U.S. troops unearthed one of their biggest weapons caches near the village of Uja, Saddam Hussein's birthplace.
