John Alexander (Pate) Patrick, 85, passed away Friday September 26, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
John was born May 26, 1918 in Salt Lake City to Joseph Edward Patrick and Alison Moffat Stevenson. He was one of seven children.
Pate attended local schools graduating from West High School, he later received a Bachelor and a Masters degree from the University of Utah.
John married his high school sweetheart Lois Marie Sessions May 2, 1941. He served in the Navy in World War II. He retired as an electrical engineer from Utah Power and Light.
He married Phyllis Stetich May 30, 1987. John lived an active and full life. He had many friends and belonged to many organizations. He loved many sports and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and volunteered with many community organizations.
He is survived by one son Greg (Judy) Patrick; three daughters, Pam Knutson, Christi (Fred) Gerlach, Shelley Sanchez; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary 3251 South 2300 East. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, and on Thursday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
