Obituary: Wesley Frank Emery

1916 ~ 2003

Wesley Frank Emery passed away peacefully Sunday, September 28, 2003 in Salt Lake City, UT at age 87.

He was born February 25, 1916 in Salt Lake City to Hannahbell and Wilford Emery. He married Jean Caldwell June 6, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. She died July 18, 1977. Wesley worked for the U.S. Smelting and Layton Construction. He taught swimming and life saving to the scouts for over 20 years. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Australia from 1937 to 1939. He married Marjorie M. Reeve in 1978. They served two missions, in Ireland and as director of the Historic Liberty Jail. They officiated in the Salt Lake Temple for 13 years.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie and his children, Jacquelyn Woodward (Harley), Wesley Scott, Kaythryn R. Wade (David), Lee Ann R. Southam (Lynn), Dan Reeve (Linda), Gerry Reeve (Paula), Craig Reeve (Linda), Marrillee R. Kupfer (Kelvin), 40 grandchildren, and 31 great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 2, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2nd Ave. and "A" Street in Salt Lake City, UT. The viewing will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2003 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary (255 So. 200 E.) and Thursday, October 2, 2003 at the ward chapel from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions to the L.D.S. missionary fund.
