Obituary: Barbara Belle Macfarlane Jones

"Babbie Belle"

Barbara Belle MacfarJane Jones was born

in Parowan, Utah, the second child and. first daughter of Kenneth Macfarlane and Maggie Mae Matheson on September 19,1911. She passed away in Cedar City, Utah, on September 28 2003 as she held her sweetheart's hand.

She received her education in the Cedar Ciity schools and was voted "Most Popular Girl" at BAC in 1927. She married Homer S. Jones, her childhood sweetheart, on May 21, 1931 in the St. George LDS Temple. They are the parents of three sons.

She was foster mother to two Native American young men, Raymond Roper and William Garcia.

Belle is survived by her husband of 72 years, Homer; sons, T.J. (D'Ann Olson) Roy, UT., Ken (Janene Davis) Centerville; and Dan (JoAnn Duncan) Cedar City; 19 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two sisters, Mae Boyter and Lucile Crockett. Preceded in death by brother, Keith; her sister, Sarah, and a great-grandson, Jarom.

Services will be held at the Old Rock Church at 79 E. Center Street, Cedar City, Utah, Friday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. A viewing will be held Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary, 190 N. 300 West, Cedar City, and one hour prior at the church. Interment, Cedar City Cemetery.
