Obituary: Stena Pearl Bott Barton

1915 ~ 2003

Stena Pearl Bott Barton, born October 18, 1915 in Castle Dale, Utah to Carl Christian and Mette Kjristena Petersen Bott. She passed away September 2, 2003 at Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah.

She graduated from Central High School in 1933 and has been a lifelong resident of Castle Dale. She taught music for many years and had hundreds of students, each of them becoming just as though they were one of her own. Many will still remember her telling them to "practice every day." She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Castle Dale 2nd ward. She held many callings including serving a mission in the Northwestern States Mission. She has also been a member of the Castle Dale Senior Citizens including the RSVP Program, and a friend of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She married Warren Edson Barton in the Manti Temple. Together they served a temple mission at the Manti Temple for many years.

She is survived by her children Warren Karl (Marcia) Barton, Stena Carol (Robert) Riding, Quinn Bott (Gayle) Barton, and son-in-law Randy Kim (Jill) Grover. She was extremely proud and loved her 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren who lovingly called her "Grandma Great." She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, husband and daughter Barbara Pearl Grover.

Friends may call for a visitation at the Castle Dale Stake Center on Fri. Sept 5, 2003 from 10-10:45 a.m. Funeral services will follow at the Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Castle Dale City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary, Castle Dale.
