- Carl Ray Thompson, age 67 of Lehi, died September 4, 2003 at home with his family after a long fight with cancer.
He was born Feb 2, 1936 in Lehi, Utah, son of Russell and Vera Shelly Thompson. He married MyrnaAnn Morrell, Dec 24, 1954 in Provo, Utah.
Carl served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for Geneva Steel and then was a foreman and superintendent with Iron Workers, Local #27 for 30 years, having worked at Adamson-Smith Construction Co. for 15 years. He traveled and worked in many states throughout the country. He loved the outdoors and had several hobbies, including solo flying, riding horses and mules, and he was certified in scuba diving. He especially loved dogs, kids, his many friends, and his family.
Survived by his wife of Lehi; two sons and two daughters: Wade Carl Thompson, Lehi; Rone (Charlie) Thompson, Boseman, Montana; Stacey Lee Robinson, Orem; Julie Ann (Tim) Holmes, Cedar Fort; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Larsen, Aberdeen, ID.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven (Turk) Thompson, and brothers and sisters: Reed, Russell, and Glade Thompson, Elda Brown, Mary Thatcher, Vera Cox, June Dean, and Phyllis Thompson
Funeral, Monday, Sept 8, 2003 at 1 p.m. in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, 118 E. Main, Lehi, where friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 12:00 noon until time of services. Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
