Auditions have been scheduled for three upcoming regional stage productions.

FARMINGTON CITY ART DEPARTMENT is holding auditions today, 9 a.m.-noon, at City Hall, 130 N. Main, for all of their fall productions, which will include a children's theater production and an adult dinner-theater show.

HALE CENTER THEATER OREM, Monday and Tuesday, by appointment only, for "Forever Plaid," being directed by Syd Riggs. All roles are available. The show requires good singing skills in 1950s and '60s style harmony. Needed are four men for a quartet. Come prepared to sing 32 bars of a song of your own choice. An accompanist will be provided. VIP ARTS, Springville, will hold auditions Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 7-9 p.m., for its production of John Patrick's comedy, "A Bad Year for Tomatoes," being directed by Daryl Tucker and scheduled to run Oct. 24-Nov. 24. The plot revolves around a television celebrity who moves into a small town to get away from it all and write her autobiography.

There are roles for four women, 20-70 years of age, and three men, also 20-70. For further information, call 801-489-3088 or 427-9318.

PIONEER THEATRE COMPANY, on Sept. 26 and 27 for its Dec. 3-20 production of the Broadway musical revue, "Smokey Joe's Cafe," being directed and choreographed by Patti D'Beck. All roles are open.

Equity auditions are 5-6 p.m. and non-Equity auditions are 1-5 p.m. Equity members may sign up for any open time slot if they are unable to make the reserved times. Non-Equity players must check with the stage manager before signing up for an Equity slot.

Come prepared to sing a 1950s or '60s pop or rock number, either something from the show or similar material. An accompanist will be provided.

All auditioners must sign up for a time slot on the callboard, which will be posted Sept. 19 outside of Room 237 of Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre.
