OREM — A man accused of stealing $120,000 in jewelry and watches from a Idaho jewelry store will be taken to Idaho to face charges.
Orem Police Lt. Doug Edwards said a 25-year-old man was arrested at his residence Thursday after Orem detectives teamed up with detectives from Rexburg, Idaho.
Police this week served a search warrant at the man's Orem residence.
Rexburg officers had come to Orem looking for the man. They also sought items from Dale's Jewelry Store in Rexburg. More than $120,000 in jewelry and watches were taken from the store during a burglary Aug. 15.
A search of the residence recovered nearly $60,000 worth of jewelry and watches.
Edwards said more than 30 watches, rings and necklaces were identified as having come from the Idaho jewelry store.
The man was arrested and was booked into the Utah County Jail on a $40,000 warrant out of Rexburg. Rexburg police will make arrangements to extradite him to Idaho.
