DETROIT (AP) — General Motors Corp. said Friday it will recall about 783,000 model year 2000 and 2001 Chevrolet Malibus, Oldsmobile Aleros and Pontiac Grand Ams to replace hazard-warning switches.
The recall involves vehicles built between Feb. 1, 2000 and May 1, 2001. About 671,000 of the cars are in the United States and 88,000 are in Canada. The rest are outside the two countries.
GM said the cars' hazard-warning switches may malfunction because of exposure to rapid temperature changes.
