Obituary: Gilbert (Gib) Van Steenwyk

11/18/1936 ~ 9/6/2003

Gilbert (Gib) Van Steenwyk passed away peacefully at his home Sept 6, 2003 at Bountiful, Utah.

He was born Nov 18, 1936 to Frank and Karra Van Steenwyk in Sheldon, IA. He proudly served his country for three years in the U.S. Army. He married Marge Arends in Sheldon, IA, Oct 11, 1963. They made their home in Bountiful, UT. To their union twin sons were born, Karl and Kurt.

Gib was employed by Western Airlines and later Delta Airlines, Salt Lake City until Jan 1999.

His life is celebrated by the family he left behind, wife, Marge; twin sons, Kurt, Midvale, UT, Karl (Brandi), Fort Stewart, GA; sisters, Darlene Schwarz, Sheldon, IA, Coreen Paulson, Glenwood, MN; granddaughter, Ashlee, Bountiful, UT; grandson, Tony, Fort Stewart, GA; many nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of his life will be 10:30 a.m. Tues. Sept 9, 2003 Grace Baptist Church, 390 N. 400 E, Bountiful, UT. Directors, Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. Online guest book and directional maps are available at www.russonmortuary.com
