A bomb threat displaced two wards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Sunday morning.
A 911 operator received a call at about 9:10 a.m. reporting a bomb in a church building on 4200 W. Skye Drive in South Jordan.
Within 10 minutes, the two wards attending church in the building were evacuated, South Jordan battalion chief Matt Evans said.
A Salt Lake County bomb squad and K-9 unit waited for about one hour before searching the building for explosives. The search lasted about one more hour, Evans said. By that time, the two wards — about 300 people — had gone home.
The search yielded nothing, and the afternoon ward members were able to attend church without incident.
