Obituary: Beverly Debenham Cannon

1923 ~ 2003

"Gone Square Dancing"

Our mother, Beverly Debenham Cannon, age 80, passed away unexpectedly while enjoying an extended stay with her daughter in Battle Ground, Washington.

She was born April 30, 1923 in Salt Lake City, UT to Nellie Draisy Atkinson and Harold Larter Debenham.

Mother was born and lived a full life in East Millcreek. She married her high school sweetheart, Homer Daly Cannon, May 22, 1941. They were married 61 years until his death Oct 11, 2002.

She loved children, and touched all their lives with her TLC. Mom had many friends and participated in many group activities. Her greatest enjoyment was her family and friends. She loved entertaining and cooking for everyone.

She will be most remembered for her sense of humor, red hats, a green thumb, raisin squares and hand-dipped chocolates.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and fulfilled many callings over the years.

Survived by her children, Clifford Cannon, Salt Lake City, UT, Barbara (Carl) Gray, Battle Ground, WA, Nancy (Richard) Shepherd, Sandy, UT; sister, Jean (Verl) Staten; brother, Harold J (Lois) Debenham; 12 grand-children; and 20 great-grandchil-dren. Preceded in death by her hus-band; sister, Luana Simpson; brothers, Everett and Steve Debenham; and grand-sons, Clint, Charles and Monty Cannon.

A celebration of her life will be Wed. Sept 10, 2003. Friends and family may call Garner Funeral Home, 1001 E. 11th Ave. Viewing 12-1 p.m. Crypt side services will follow.
