I understand that the administration at West Jordan High School relented and will allow the marching band to practice for one hour each Saturday on the football field. They are concerned that with more time the band will trample the tender grass and the field won't be in top shape for several hours of football practice each day after school.
How thoughtful! But let's be realistic. Football does more damage in two hours of practice than a marching band could do in a whole season of marching. The school administration needs to wake up.
