ST. GEORGE — Former Springdale town manager Glenn E. Hill has been accused of taking more than $150,000.
The second-degree felony charges of misusing public moneys and embezzlement were filed Monday in 5th District Court.
Court documents alleged that from July 2001 to June 2002, Hill paid himself $46,020 without authorization, and that from July 2002 to July 2003, Hill paid himself $107,827 without authorization.
Hill, 53, and former town clerk Teri Hatch were placed on administrative leave by the Town Council on July 9, and both were fired later that month.
Hill, who was hired as the town manager on April 1, 1999, had no comment about the charges filed in court.
Hill is the fourth public official to face charges in Washington County this year.
Former Virgin town Clerk Noelle Higbee and former Mayor Jay Lee were charged with misusing public moneys. Lee pleaded no contest, and Higbee awaits trial.
Gerald Jones, former administrator-recorder in Enterprise, was charged with embezzlement, misusing public moneys and use of office for personal benefit.
