Zelmona Jensen Lowther, 91, passed away peacefully January 10, 2004.
Born August 25, 1912, in Sandy, Utah to Evan Orlando and Edith Brown Jensen. Mona married Theodore Roosevelt Lowther, August 16, 1935, in the Salt Lake Temple. She was devoted to her family and a faithful member of her church. Ted and Mona served an LDS mission to Nauvoo in 1976, one of the highlights of her life.
Mona loved to quilt and has left many wonderful works of her art to her family. She served in various church callings including many years of genealogical extraction research and family genealogical work. Mona was a wonderful example to her family and to those that knew her. She will be enormously missed by all whose lives she has touched.
Mona is survived by her four children, Donna May (Walt) Summerhayes, Jean (Dan) Maughan, James Theodore (Wanda) Lowther, and Dennis Jensen (Saundra) Lowther. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, two brothers, and one daughter.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at the Union Park 7th Ward, 7500 South 700 East, in Midvale. A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. prior to the service, where friends and family may call. Interment will follow at Sandy City Cemetery. Arrangements by Serenicare, Funeral Directors.
