1930 ~ 2004
Lloyd Elton Thompson, 73, of Springville, died Sunday, January 11, 2004 peacefully at home.
He was born May 4, 1930 in Springville, Utah, the son of Elton and Fern Thompson.
Lloyd served in the Army in the Korean War from 1949-1952. He worked for Geneva Steel for 30 years. Lloyd was a very loving father, brother, grandpa, uncle, cousin and friend. If Lloyd wasn't doing something for someone, he just wasn't happy. He enjoyed yard work, fishing, hunting, watching sports, and in his younger years he loved to roller skate. Most of all, Lloyd loved his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.
Lloyd is survived by two sons: Sean G. Thompson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Christian (Ericka) Thompson of Fruita, Colorado; one daughter, Jamee (Joseph) Krochta of Springville; three grandchildren with one on the way: Zachary M. Richardson, Brittnee L. Richardson and Allison N. Richardson of Springville. He is also survived by two sisters: Bertha (Rulon) Wilkinson of Springville, and Loraine (Dale) Maynord of Riverton; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his father Elton Thompson, mother Fern Thompson, brother Leroy Thompson, sister Rhoda Anderson, brothers-in-law Rulon Wilkinson and Dale Maynard, and son Michael S. Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at 2 p.m. There will be a viewing Tuesday evening at the mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:45-1:45 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion.
