Regarding same-sex marriage, David Anderson's letter shows exactly how facts are deliberately distorted on an issue to boost one's own beliefs.

The only connection between the Massachusetts court ruling on same sex marriage and the proposed U.S. Constitutional amendment is that they both affect same-sex couples. That's where it ends. The court ruling does not amend the state constitution. The ruling simply states that ALL citizens are equal under that state's constitution, the way it is written, and therefore should be treated as such. The proposed U.S. Constitutional amendment denies equal treatment to certain citizens under the Constitution, as the Constitution is written.

No amendment to the Constitution denies individual, personal liberties but builds upon what has previously been established. Read the Constitution; it's easily accessible on the Internet.
