1962 ~ 2004

Cheryl Gygi Winters, age 41, passed away Jan. 4, 2004.

She was born Sept. 20, 1962 in Salt Lake City. The daughter of Orson Paul Gygi and Ilene Dial Gygi. She married Patrick Neil Winters Dec. 5, 1992 and they were sealed in the Jordan River Temple Dec. 16, 1999.

She had a very special spirit and loved everyone she knew. They in turn loved her and will miss her. Her greatest desire was to be able to raise her children but her faith allowed her to accept that it was time for her to go.

She is survived by her husband, Pat; their children, Ashlee, 10, and Benjamin, five; her stepdaughter, Amberlee (Carl) Woodland, and their two daughters, Carlee and Alexis; her parents; sister, Korene Bird; brother, Gary Alan (Sue) Gygi; eight nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Michael Paul.

The world is filled with angels that dwell beyond our sight.

Their presence is a comfort as they guard us day and night.

I know a real life Angel who has been with us a while.

She may have needed crutches, but she used them with a smile.

The beauty of her spirit, her strength and kindness, too

Have been an inspiration to everyone she knew.

But soon she won't need crutches or other earthly things.

She's going to wake one morning with perfect feet and wings.

And then, I know, she'll tip-toe to Ben and Ashlee's beds

To safely tuck them in at night and kiss their precious heads.

Her dearest husband, Patrick will always feel her there,

As she wraps her wings around him in tender, loving care.

When the Angels come to get her, then everyone will know.

Cheryl's finally getting angel wingsShe earned them long ago.

With love to my hero, Pat Farr, September 30, 2003.

We wish to thank the many doctors who've cared for her during her life and the members of hospice who were there to support us during her final days.

Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 6, at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street in Murray. Cheryl requested no funeral. Graveside services will be held Wednesday Jan. 7, at 12:30 p.m. at Holladay Memorial Park, 4901 S. Memory Lane (2040 East).
