1923~2004
Deloris Louise Schmidt Christensen passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at her American Fork home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 6, 1923 to Louise Marie Popp and Pete Christian Schmidt in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the oldest of four brothers and two sisters. She married John Louis Christensen in the Logan Temple on July 2, 1948. They had six children, three girls and three boys. She served her family and others unconditionally. Her love and caring touched the lives of those who knew her. She enjoyed serving in the American Fork Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary and was a past president. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving a mission in the Western States Mission from 1946 to 1948. Holiday family parties with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were special to her.
Survived by her children Clark (Janice) Christensen, Gay Jones, Denice (Kyle) Walters, Nyla (Richard) Colborn, Paul (Karen) Christensen all of American Fork, Utah, Neal (Debbie) Christensen of Lehi, Utah, and a foster son Ronald (Sheila) Moss of Spanish Fork; a sister Iola (Delbert) Forman of Herriman, Utah; brothers Warren (Dorothy) Schmidt of Sandy, Utah, Rowen (Esther) Schmidt of Midvale, Larry (Linda) Schmidt of Riverton, Utah; 29 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; with four great-grandchildren expected this year.
Preceded in death by husband, granddaughter Dawn Christensen, parents, sister Noreen Bodell, and brother Dean Schmidt.
Funeral services Saturday, Jan. 10, 11 a.m. LDS Ward Chapel, 680 North 350 West, American Fork, Utah. Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Friday 6-8 p.m. and at the chapel prior to services 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, American Fork City Cemetery.
