Obituary: Alva Price Brown

1935 ~ 2004

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Alva Price Brown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family October 9, 2004.

Alva was born in South Jordan, UT Dec. 4, 1935 to Leslie W. and Hazel S. Price. She grew up and was educated in Arimo, ID. Later she married Larry Dean Brown Nov. 14, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they had two daughters and five sons. She also retired after 20 years of service at Brighton High School. Alva held many callings in the church, most recently serving an inter-city mission with Larry in the Rose Park 1st Ward. She loved working in her garden and the hummingbirds that visited there. She was a great cook who loved having her family over to "pick." Her family (especially grandchildren) were her greatest joy.

She is survived by her husband, Larry of nearly 49 years; and seven children, Karla (Guy), Jerilyn (Har-ley), Cory (Ruth), Darren, Jay (Marlo), Greg (Vickie), Ryan (Pam). Her father; two sisters; and four brothers also survive her. She was preceded in death by her mother and older sister. Alva has 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and five foster grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Cottonwood and LDS Hospitals. A special thanks to Roxalene Belliston, Carol Nelson, and Shirley Larsen for their tender, loving care.

A viewing will be held Oct. 13, 2004 in Mountain View Memorial Mortuary at 3115 E. 7800 So. between 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Oct. 14 at Brighton 6 th
