Obituary: Fredrick Jarrett Balser

1933 ~ 2004

Frederick Jarrett Balser, 71, of Perez Street, Attleboro, Massachusetts died on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital, Norwood, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Frances (Hood) Balser to whom he was married for 30 years.

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on February 14, 1933 he was a son of the late Fred Wilford and Ethel-Ann (Jarrett) Balser. He was the stepson of the late Mildred (Brown) Balser. He was raised and educated in Nephi, Utah and Salt Lake City, Utah. He resided in Salt Lake City, Utah until moving to Massachusetts in 1959 and settling in Attleboro where he has lived for the past 45 years.

Jerry was first employed by O.C. Tanner in SLC and was employed by the former L. G. Balfour Company in Attleboro, MA from 1959 - 1989 after which he was a self-employed commercial artist. Since his retirement, he was employed part-time at the Sun Chronicle newspaper in Attleboro as a van driver for the circulation department.

An avid antique car enthusiast, he was a member of the Bay State Corvairs Club.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters: Jan Beggs of Salt Lake City, Utah and Diann Balser of Concord, NH; three sisters: Mignon Davis of Springville, Utah; Debra Ann Sor-Lokken of Great Falls, Montana and Joyce Balser of Salt Lake City, Utah; three brothers: Robert McCall of Bountiful, Utah; David McCall of Salt Lake City, Utah and Rickford Balser of Sandy, Utah and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Louis Balser and Joann Jensen.

Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2004 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W. 300 N. Nephi, Utah. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
