Test your Valley pigskin prognostication skills

The Deseret Morning News Grid Picks contest for Utah Valley is in its eighth week, with an entry deadline of noon Friday.

Readers can enter online at and pick the winners of: Timpanogos at Mountain View, Provo at Timpview, Springville at Payson, Orem at Pleasant Grove, Spanish Fork at American Fork, North Sanpete at Carbon, Granite at Wasatch, Gunnison at South Summit, Millard at Juab, and Park City at Judge Memorial. The Dons-Cavemen game is the tiebreaker game, where entrants also predict the final score.

LAST WEEK'S WINNERS: The top seven prognosticators each week win Grid Picks T-shirts, which can be picked up at the Deseret Morning News' Utah County Bureau.

Last week's winners were: Kiera Jo Andreasen, Brigham City, 9 correct of 10; Blaik Baird, Heber City; Phill Harmon, Orem; Dan Mangelson, American Fork; Mont Wade, Heber City; Troy Andreasen, Brigham City; and Michael Newbury, Springville.

UTAH COUNTY CONTEST RULES: Ballots are published online each week, Aug. 23 through Oct. 18. Each weekly contest ends at noon Friday. However, if the contest includes a Thursday game, the contest will end at noon the day of the earliest game. You may enter via anytime before the deadline.

Only one entry each week per person allowed. A valid e-mail address must accompany each entry; one entry per e-mail address per week. Entrants must be at least 13 years old.

Mark boxes to predict winners. Predict the score and the winner of the weekly tiebreaker game, which counts as one of the 10 games listed each week. Ties will be broken using the score of the tiebreaker game. If that does not resolve ties, a random selection by computer will be used.

Every week, the seven entrants predicting the most games correctly win Grid Picks T-shirts. Winners will be notified by mail. Prizes must be picked up during regular business hours at the Deseret Morning News Utah County Bureau, 1280 S. 800 East, Suite 300, Orem, at least one week after the contest ends but no later than Dec. 30, 2004.

Employees, agents and correspondents of the Deseret Morning News, the Newspaper Agency Corp., other news media and their families are ineligible. Entries may not be submitted in the names of others.
