Auditions are scheduled for two upcoming stage productions.

SALT LAKE ACTING COMPANY'S regional premiere of David Ives' "Polish Joke" on Wednesday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the theater, 168 W. 500 North. Kirstie Rosenfield is directing.

There are roles for three men — one in his 30s and two in their 40s-50s — and two women in their 30s. Both Equity and non-Equity players are invited to audition. There will be readings from the script (excerpts available for two-day checkout from the box office). Bring a current photograph and resume.

Auditions are by appointment only (363-0526). Rehearsals begin Jan. 3 and play dates are Feb. 1-27.

THE ACADEMY THEATRE COMPANY, 3188 S. 400 East, on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and Friday at 2 p.m. for its holiday production, "The Little Match Girl," adapted by Collin Kreuzer from Hans Christian Andersen's fable. There are more than 30 roles for men, women and children of all ages. Some parts require lyrical dance experience (898-2728).
