Urgyen Samten Ling Gonpa, a Tibetan Buddhist Temple now located at 740 S. 300 West, will hold several public events next week in conjunction with its grand reopening in larger quarters.
A public lecture, "Loving Kindness in Action," by visiting Lama Tsoknyi Rinpoche III, a master of the Drukpa Kagyu and Nyingma traditions who teaches the tradition worldwide. He'll speak at the temple Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 6:30 p.m. Suggested donation is $20.
Tibetan Asian Cultural Festival, Friday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the temple. Activities include a Tibetan arts demonstration, Tai Chi, Kung-Fu and Taido Sword demonstrations, children's crafts and tours of the temple.
A series of open houses Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m. through the end of October for anyone interested in touring the temple.
