With Marianne Jennings taking a leave of absence, columnists such as Ellen Goodman can now go unchecked. Ms. Goodman ran amok in her Oct. 15 column, parroting Sen. John Kerry in his attacks on the president. Ms. Goodman has obvious disdain for the president, but I am uncertain if it is because of his firmness, or because he is a man. Ms. Goodman called him "The Man Who Wouldn't Ask Directions." Like she could have done better?
There are many good reasons to complete our mission in Iraq. In fact, there are 25 million good reasons, and although this looks like a black eye for America right now, the next generation of Iraqis and others will be grateful.
