Police hunting for man in robberies at home

A man faces multiple criminal counts in connection with a September home-invasion robbery.

On Sept. 24, the 31-year-old man allegedly entered a home near 1450 S. Richards St. with a pistol in hand. He then pointed the gun at two male residents and demanded they show him where their money was, according to charges filed Friday in 3rd District Court.

The man then searched the two residents' pockets and took their money and wallets, charges state. About $2,200 also was stolen from one of the bedrooms.

The man repeatedly struck the residents in the head with the pistol and threatened to kill them if they did not cooperate, or if they called the police, court documents state.

The man was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, one count of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony; two counts of aggravated kidnapping, a first-degree felony; one count of theft, a third-degree felony; and two counts of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony. As of Friday night, the man was not in police custody.
