Two Utah golfers are in contention for the Western Club Professional Championship heading into today's final round at Patterson, Calif.
Sandy's Steve Schneiter is tied for second place at 206, three strokes behind Boise's Kevin Burton, who won the tournament in 2002 at Thanksgiving Point GC in Lehi. Schneiter, a professional at Schneiter's Pebblebrook, was tied for the lead after the second round before shooting a 72 Saturday.
Ogden's Jimmy Blair is another stroke back at 207 in a tie for fourth place.
Among other Utahns in the tourney, Salt Lake's Henry White stands at 217, North Salt Lake's Ryan Rhees is at 218 and Centerville's Matt Johnson stands at 221. Utah native Mike Malaska, who lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., stands at 216.
