KEARNS — Three people were treated for minor smoke inhalation late this week after their house caught fire.
Damage to the single-story house, near 4700 West and 5100 South, was estimated at $15,000. The cause is under investigation but was not considered suspicious, Unified Fire Authority Capt. Marlon Jones said.
Firefighters entered the house about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and were able to contain the blaze to the bedroom where it started, Jones said.
The three residents who were home, a man, woman and boy, complained of smoke and breathing problems. They were treated at the scene. Also, a dog and at least one cat were lost in the fire, Jones said.
