VERNAL<! > - Linda Prothero Monsen, 57, returned home to her Heavenly Father on October 16, 2004. She was in her favorite place, doing her favorite thing, with her most favorite person.

She was born September 5, 1947 in Provo, UT to Dean Jay and Elizabeth Lloynd Prothero. She spent her childhood in Springville, UT. She received her bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University. She was an employee of the US Post Office in Vernal for over 20 years.

She married Kenneth Lee Serre, they had three children; later divorced. She then married Donald G. Monsen, September 15, 1984. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo Temple, December 7, 1985. Linda was a faithful member of the LDS church. She inspired and touched all those that came in contact with her. She was the world's greatest wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She spent her life giving to others.

She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Monsen; three children, Shannon D. Serre (Leslie), Chara Soo Barker, Joseph Ken Serre (Michal); three step-children, Corey Don Monsen, Scott Dee Monsen, Lisa R. Monsen. She had five beautiful grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her son-in-law, Jared Thomas Barker.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Glines Stake Center (475 W. 100 S.) in Vernal. A viewing will be held Thursday, October 21, 2004 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, and one hour prior to the services at the Glines Stake Center. Burial will be located at the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
