Keep fluoride in water

You'll get plenty of statistics supporting each side of the fluoride debate, so I'll stick with my experience in this letter.

As a dental hygienist, I recommend fluoride drops and tablets for children who live in non-fluoridated areas because of its strengthening effect on developing enamel. I suggest fluoride toothpaste to all, prescribe concentrated fluoride gel or paste or rinse to my patients with compromised enamel, and offer a topical treatment of fluoride on a six-month basis because of their remineralizing effect on enamel.

It took a lot of work to get fluoride into our water system. Let's keep it there!
