Dr. Edward Clark, medical director at Primary Children's Medical Center, assured mothers in his letter that it is safe to make infant formula with fluoridated water.
Perhaps Dr. Clark is unaware that dosage levels for fluoride were reduced in 1986. Or that the American Dental Association Council on Scientific Affairs approved a new fluoride dosage schedule because of what the American Academy of Pediatrics says "seems to be an increased incidence of dental fluorosis in children living in the United States." The new fluoride dosage schedule for infants up to 6 months of age is none and from 6 months to 3 years of age is 0.25 mg per day, the amount of fluoride found in 1 cup of water.
Professionals who support fluoridation belittle or dismiss opposing views and refuse to discuss the real issues while they quote outdated information.
