USU sets summit on future of Cache

LOGAN — Not wanting to be just a "school on the hill," Utah State University is inviting the public to participate in a community "benchmark" summit.

On Oct. 29, USU President Kermit Hall, along with the Cache Chamber of Commerce, will lead a daylong meeting to discuss environmental issues, economic development and community demographics.

The event is free, but participants are asked to RSVP by Monday by visiting the Web site www.usu.edu/benchmarksummit or by calling 435-797-0787.

"Cache Valley is a maturing and growing metropolitan region, and it can't escape both the benefits and limitations that areas associated with growth and change naturally experience," Hall said. "The summit is intended to inaugurate broad-based discussion that will increasingly be narrowed from a summary to a recommendation for action."
