A pile of rubble is all that is left after a fire consumed a house under construction at 1100 W. 9840 South in South Jordan. About 5:50 a.m., fire crews were called by a Sandy police officer. By the time firefighters arrived, the house was ablaze, said South Jordan Fire Chief Phil Harris. Shortly after crews began fighting the fire, the second story collapsed and fell onto the rest of the house, he said. Investigators said Thursday it was too early to tell if this was tied to a recent rash of arson.
