NEW YORK — Jamal Crawford had 22 points to help the New York Knicks rout the Dallas Mavericks 102-86 in a preseason game on Sunday night.
Crawford, who has led the Knicks in scoring four times this preseason, scored seven points during New York's 10-1 run to start the third quarter. He capped the third with two fast breaks on consecutive steals, dunking after the first and finding Penny Hardaway with a slick behind-the-head pass on the second, helping the Knicks take a 78-56 lead to the fourth.
Dirk Nowitzki scored all of his 17 points in the first half to lead the Mavericks, who emptied their bench after falling behind by 20 points in the third quarter.
Erick Dampier, who Knicks president Isiah Thomas tried to sign in the offseason, had eight points and struggled to score in his 19 minutes for Dallas.
Hardaway added 14 points and Stephon Marbury had 13 points and eight assists for the Knicks.
Jason Terry added 17 points and five rebounds for the Mavericks.
New York's Allan Houston sat out his sixth straight preseason game while resting his left knee.
Dallas was without seven players, including Marquis Daniels (left knee), Jerry Stackhouse (right thigh) and Michael Finley (right hamstring).
WIZARDS 97, BOBCATS 85: At Washington, Gilbert Arenas had 20 points and six rebounds to lead the Washington Wizards to a 97-85 preseason win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday night.
Antawn Jamison scored 16 points for the Wizards (3-3). Larry Hughes added 15 points and Juan Dixon 13 points and four steals.
NUGGETS 98, PACERS 80: At Denver, Marcus Camby had 15 points and 13 rebounds in three quarters and Carmelo Anthony added 14 points, helping the Denver Nuggets beat the Indiana Pacers 98-80 in a preseason game Sunday night.
CLIPPERS 97, HORNETS 93: At Los Angeles, Corey Maggette had 19 points to help the Los Angeles Clippers beat the New Orleans Hornets.
