Capital campaign recommendations

Intermountain Medical Center — The IMC has completed 95 percent of its $390 million capital campaign and will seek the remaining $20 million from private funding sources. The facility will include five hospitals and serve six states, including 75 regional health centers.

Huntsman Cancer Institute — HCI has completed 40 percent of its capital campaign. The facility is seeking to raise enough money to recall $30 million in variable rate state financing and support recruitment, clinical and research initiatives.

Ballet West — The company is working to create a consolidated ballet academy. It has raised $12 million of its $18.5 million goal, which includes operations and maintenance costs, as well as endowment funding.

The Museum of Utah Art & History — MUAH has raised $3.3 million of its $10 million campaign. The museum will open in three phases, with the first phase scheduled for a Nov. 4 opening.

Utah Museum of Natural History — The museum has completed $28.5 million of its $60 million target, which it will use to build a new, larger facility and expand its exhibit, educational and scientific research capabilities.

The chamber also recommended that the Leonardo Center, Children's Museum of Utah and Clark Planetarium examine the possibility of working more closely together or even merging their planning, programming and administrative operations to reduce redundancy, lower costs and increase efficiency.
